Safe Haven

This is my personal favourite image of my most recent trip to Niagara Falls in Canada. My main idea was to get a clean image with all of the elements captured at their absolute best. I stayed in one spot for several hours waiting for the right moments to get what I needed. Along with an ND filter, I was able to slow down the waterfall just enough to give me this soft appearance. I increased my shutter speed to freeze this seagull at the perfect spot. Shortly after, the beautiful sunset light gave life to the background rock and to the green foreground. I also had to time it just right with the wind to limit the heavy mist from the falls from obscuring the view. At this point I only needed a clean shot without any tourists and also lighting to give the place a bit of life. The blue hour did not disappoint. I highly suggest experiencing Niagara Falls if you haven’t already. It’s truly stunning!
