Final Days

This is one of my favourite local lighthouses. Unfortunately, no one can photograph it anymore since it was destroyed in early 2020. It has been replaced by a new and shiny white lighthouse that has a lot less character in my opinion. I took this image back in may 2019, after I had spent the night photographing the milky way around the lighthouse. You may remember that image, it still is one of my favourites. The sunrise was nothing short of exceptional the next morning with colourful orange, red and pink clouds. I could not resist creating an image despite being very tired, dehydrated and hungry. I walked back on the beach for 12 km with my heavy bag on my shoulders. I won’t forget this hike anytime soon!
